My first post is up on BookEndBabes today, recommending to you a fun summer beach read that I’m dying to talk to someone about. If anyone has read Jennifer Johnson is Sick of Being Single, I’d be interested in hearing your take on the ending. It’s something that has stuck with me now a year after turning the last page. I’m not sure if it’s the surprise, the realism, or the sad realization that (but for the grace of God) I could be Jennifer Johnson.
Truthfully, the title didn’t suck me in. It was recommended to me by a young sales clerk at Barnes & Noble, and it sounded to me (both because of the title and the age of the clerk) that it might be a bit young for me. Not that I’m old mind you.
But I was immediately taken by the comedic timing and I was happily surprised by the plot. That is, until the ending. As I said before, I’m still troubled by it. It broke all the rules (for better or worse), and I’m still trying to work out if I’m okay with that. So . . . any takers? What do you think?
