Making a Difference One Book at a Time

Every year, the guys at guyslitwire do a book drive for kids with little access to books.  Last year it was for boys in a juvenile detention center in California.  This year it’s for two Native American schools: Ojo Encino in Cuba, NM and Alchesay High School in Whiteriver, AZ.

I donated last year and it was, by far, the most personally satisfying donation I made all year (not that it’s about me, but you know what I mean).

If you’re interested, read through their instructions on how to go about making the donation (it’s a bit complex, but worth the effort).

  1. Thanks Anne – and especially for hanging in there to buy from Powells. I keep hoping the wish list process will get easier over there but we are staying with them regardless as they are such a great store. (And folks can get so many used copies.)

I’m sure the kids will be thrilled with your books – I will have posts go up as the books start arriving so be sure to check back for their thoughts!
